Free Money From The Federal Government

Yeah, Matthew Lesko wasn't BS'ing you. There are options for grants for just about anything you can think of, but you don't need to buy his book to find them.

Which is the only thing about Lesko that is a scam, because his exaggerations make it seem as if his book is the holy grail of grants. He also makes it seem as if it's effortless and painless. It's not. It takes a lot of time and effort to locate the proper grant and apply for it. There is also absolutely ZERO garentee that your application will be accepted.

Grants.gov was established as a governmental resource named the E-Grants Initiative, part of the President's 2002 Fiscal Year Management Agenda to improve government services to the public.

The concept has its origins in the Federal Financial Assistance Management Improvement Act of 1999, also known as Public Law 106-107.

Today, Grants.gov is a central storehouse for information on over 1,000 grant programs and provides access to approximately $400 billion in annual awards.

Grants are not Benefits or Entitlements. A federal Grant is an award of financial assistance from a federal agency to a recipient to carry out a public purpose of support or stimulation authorized by a law of the United States. Grants are not federal assistance or loans to individuals.

A grant is not used to acquire property or services for the federal government's direct benefit. The 26 federal agencies offer over 1,000 grant programs annually in various categories.

If you are in need of personal financial assistance such as Social Security/Supplemental Security Income, Medicaid or State Social Services, you can find help at www.GovBenefits.gov. This type of individual assistance is not available on this website. If you are interested in student loans, please go to www.Studentaid.ed.gov. If you are a small business looking for a loan, please visit the Small Business Administration. More information on this can be found here: http://grants.gov/aboutgrants/grants.jsp

Grants.gov is your source to FIND and APPLY for federal government grants. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is proud to be the managing partner for Grants.gov, an initiative that is having an unparalleled impact on the grant community.

So as you can see, you don't need to buy a book from a jibbering idiot in a question mark suit to learn about and apply for a grant.
